    Department Overview

    The Local Government Affairs team at PG&E takes the lead in government relations activities, shaping public policy debates, supporting customers and local communities, investing in climate resiliency, and ensuring the stability of the grid. They are looking for someone who is eager to join their collaborative team to drive real change in the community, with a strong focus on transparency, honest communication, and building trust with stakeholders.

    Position Summary

    • Develop and maintain a strong network within the Central Coast Division.
    • Engage with local governments, community groups, and stakeholders.
    • Skilled in building partnerships and agreements with diverse interests.
    • Responsible for public speaking and testimony.
    • Must excel in written and verbal communication.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead cross-functional teams.
    • Serve as an emergency lead during major outages and disasters.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Government Relations:
      • Develop and maintain strong network with political bodies and special districts.
      • Represent the company and manage responses in local political forums.
      • Offer political and governmental expertise in the area.
      • Liaison with government officials on PG&E-related matters.
    • Community Relations:
      • Build partnerships with community organizations.
      • Lead charitable contribution strategy.
      • Implement community engagement strategies.
    • Shape and Support PG&E's Operational Priorities:
      • Manage and support company programs with public affairs elements.
      • Develop and implement political and community strategies.
    • Emergency Response/Rebuild Efforts:
      • Be part of the on-call rotation during emergencies.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum:
      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
      • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
      • Valid California driver's license.
    • Desired:
      • Experience in public testimony.
      • Ability to facilitate complex discussions and negotiations.
      • Proficiency in MS Office.
      • Expertise in coalition building.
      • Strong political and community connections in the region.
      • Proven ability to work with diverse teams.
