    Description
    Major Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Perform Pre-Operation inspections to certify that Production areas has been cleaned and organized appropriately before starting production activities
    • Conduct and document regular quality checks and critical control point monitoring such as: temperature checks, label verification, portioning monitoring, adherence to recipe (Menu Assembly Card), packaging integrity and organoleptic checks.
    • When results are found to be outside of specification, ensure that appropriate remedy/corrective action is being followed
    • Respond to questions or incidents during daily operations. Assess the situation, determine appropriate action and/or escalate to management.
    • Perform periodic cGMP audits to identify issues to be resolved such as: appropriate wearing of PPE, equipment checks, proper storage of tools and equipment, identify areas for houskeeping or sanitation to address, etc.
    • Work with receivers to verify the documentation of temperature and inspection of delivery trucks upon arrival, inspect short-shelf life product for quality and check on appropriate shelf-life / expiry date labeling
    • Calibrate monitoring and measuring equipment: scales, thermometers and pH probes to agreed frequency. Documents the checks and takes appropriate corrective action when equipment fails calibration.
    • Complete established shelf-life tests of product samples as required.
    • Assist QA Manager with planning, prioritizing, and completing tasks; recommend material rejections, action items, changes in procedures, standards, test methods and equipment to maintain quality
    • Maintain and organize Food Safety and Quality Assurance daily records. Ensure facility is always "inspection ready" and assist with any third-party inspections.
    • Maintain and monitor inventory product retains and spot-check department documentation for accuracy and compliance.
    • Other job-related duties as requested.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Minimum 1- 2 years directly related Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience working in a food production environment or processing plant is required.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
    • Prior HACCP certification, Food Handler and other certification desirable
    • Experience working in a chilled food factory environment is preferred
    • Bilingual proficiency in a Spanish is highly desired

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
    • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter who will be responsible for common routines. Goal-driven with the ability to multi-task
    • Ability to problem-solve, while working under pressure and thrive in a very fast paced environment
    • Strong organizational skills. Ability to write reports, perform analysis and document findings on a daily basis.
    • Able to work a flexible schedule, covering varied shifts
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers
    • Ability to train associates on appropriate procedures and implement corrective actions as ne
    • Knowledge of Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOP's) in the food industry
    • Ability to use basic hand tools, meters, or related items to take product temperatures and lab samples.
    • Able to work in a chilled, refrigerated environment
