    Description

    Aspen Medical has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, results-oriented Records Clerk to partner with us in providing medical services to UN sponsored Kenyan Peacekeepers and US Government staff at a field hospital in Port Au Prince, Haiti. This will be a deployed, rotational contract, ideally with a 3-month on, 1-month off rotation cycle.

    The team will be based in a secure, purpose-built camp and hospital facility in Port au Prince, Haiti, and all service delivery requirements will be conducted within the confines of that facility. All support services are being provided by the US Government, including camp facilities and basic life support requirements, including travel, meals, accommodation, internet, and other ancillary support services.

    Aspen Medical will provide a Level 2 Field Hospital with EMS, Pre-Hospital Care, Surgical, Diagnostic and Laboratory, and other ancillary services. All clinic service delivery services will be provided in accordance with US clinical standards and compliance measures.

    Requirements:

    Citizenship

    + All Aspen Medical staff must be US citizens or Green Card holders.

    + Sponsorship will not be available.

    Education:

    + High school diploma or General Educational Development equivalency.

    + Successful completion of a Medical Records Technician training program is preferred.

    + Associate degree in Health Information Management or Health Information Technology is preferred.

    Certification:

    + Must hold a current, valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

    + Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) certification is preferred.

    Experience:

    + Read, understand, speak, and write English fluently and proficiently; principles of excellent customer service; TRICARE benefits; quality control and risk management; medical terminology, medical forms, and records management; HIPAA guidelines for release of medical information; general medical and legal ethics. excellent communications skills; strong organizational skills; and computer operations, including operational skills with Microsoft applications (Windows, Word, Excel,); personnel shall understand the importance of meeting deadlines.

    + Functioning knowledge of Government appointing MHS Guide to Access Success and records management rules, Government appointing information systems, JCAHO, HSI, HIPAA, DoD Health Information Privacy Regulation (DoD R), the Privacy Act, and DoD Privacy Program (DoD R).

    + Minimum of one (1) + years of current experience as a medical records clerk in a clinic/hospital/medical office setting with demonstrated experience in web-based data entry systems, Microsoft Office, preparation, generation, and distribution of medical records, copying, scanning, faxing, and mailing medical records, and performing other duties as assigned.

    Skills:

    + Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Excellent communication skills; strong organizational skills; and computer operations, including operational skills with Microsoft applications (Windows, Word, Excel,); personnel shall understand the importance of meeting deadlines.

    This position will be a 1099 contractor, with a fixed daily rate while on rotation. You will not receive pay while off rotation.
