Job DescriptionThe University of Saint Mary is a Roman Catholic, liberal arts university located in Leavenworth, Kansas, just 25 minutes away from Kansas City. For over 100 years, the University of Saint Mary has helped students find their way to meaningful lives and careers through an education that blends the liberal arts and a focus on critical thinking with the development of key professional skills. USM serves about 1,400 students at its main campus in Leavenworth, its satellite location in Overland Park, as well as online.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a full-time tenure track position for the graduate degree programs of the M..A. in Psychology, M..A. in Counseling Psychology and M.A. in School Counselor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Primary responsibilities for this faculty position include teaching and advising; program and curriculum development; and data collection. Graduate psychology faculty members are expected to work closely with the graduate psychology program director and other faculty in the program, as well as provide service to the University. Candidates should have the ability to teach a wide range of psychology courses at the graduate level. Faculty members are expected to participate in university governance through committee work at the university and division levels. USM and the Social and Behavioral Sciences Division have a close, collegial faculty dedicated to the teaching-learning relationship. Please see the faculty section of the Faculty Staff Handbook.
REQUIREMENTS:
A Ph.D. in either psychology, counseling psychology, or a closely-related field.
Prior experience teaching and in clinical work is preferred.
