Austin's Communication Station is a very busy family-owned pediatric speech and occupational therapy clinic in Central Austin currently looking for a full-time Office Assistant who has a love for children with special needs and their families.
Our staff is like a family as we truly care for every one of them. A genuine desire, motivation, and passion for our children and their families is requiredMust be able to work Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Required Skills and Experience:

Must be extremely detail-oriented and able to follow through with all tasks assigned:
- Strong customer service skills
- Must have two or more years of medical frontoffice experience
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Selfstarter with the ability to work without constant supervision
- Must be flexible and willing to learn new things
- Ability to efficiently navigate and learn new EMR systems
- Able to manage and use a strategic approach to scheduling
- Able to communicate clearly and with sensitivity to clients and families, as well as with the ACS team
- Outofthebox thinker
- Accept and learn from constructive feedback
- Must be able to multitask
- Strong organizational skills and reliable problemsolving skills
- Able to work in an active pediatric clinic environment
- Able to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and efficiently navigate situations involving active children.
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and benefits
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
- Must have a reliable means of transportation
- Willingness to complete a background and drug test prior to employment
Primary Responsibilities:

Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, track overall clinic schedules, check in clients, and collect patient payments:
- Fax reports to physician offices
- Collect and accurately enter client's data in the electronic medical records system
- Maintain client confidentiality according to HIPAA standards
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of clinic
- Maintain inventory of supplies and order supplies as needed
- Insurance benefit verification and authorization management
- Work closely and cooperatively with front office staff to handle front office responsibilities
- Collections account management for past due accounts
- Therapy staff admin support
- Perform other miscellaneous administrative support tasks as assigned
Pay:
From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
