    Description


    Under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services and/or Executive Director, performs recruitment, staffing and training functions in accordance with Facility policies and procedures.

    Essential Duties

    • Contributes to Facility quality assessment and improvement initiatives.
    • Coordinates, conducts and tracks Facility education program, including
    mandatory in-services and nursing staff competencies required by state and
    federal regulations, Facility policies, and QA-identified needs.

    • Prepares nursing schedule which adheres to the Facility's staff-to-resident ratio.
    • Reviews and approves requests for time off based on staffing needs, as needed.
    • Administers Facility work rules, policies and procedures and collective bargaining
    agreements (if applicable) in the hiring and scheduling of staff.

    • Schedules and conducts interviews with both internal and external nursing
    department candidates.

    • Trains and orients nursing department new hires (classroom and floor
    orientation).

    • Performs pre-employment drug screening, reference checks, and background
    checks as needed.

    • Administers and tracks employee and resident vaccine requirements per
    regulations and Facility policy.

    • Maintains records of applicants not selected for positions per retention guidelines
    as needed.

    • Educates staff on required policies and procedures.
    • Maintains secure personnel records for employees as needed.
    • Reduces unscheduled vacancies by contacting available staff to cover shifts, as
    needed.

    • Supports adherence to Facility attendance, paid time off, leave of absence and
    FML policies.

    • Manages Tara University database as directed.
    • Advises the Supervisor of outstanding issues, potential problems, and labor
    relations matters.

    Other Duties
    Provides hands on nursing care to residents as needed as a registered professional nurse
    or licensed practical nurse, consistent with the state's Nurse Practice Act.
    Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but
    which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances. Performs
    other work duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education/Training:
    Valid State-appropriate Nursing license required

    Experience:
    One year experience in long term care preferred.

Develop and implement digital educational innovation that is inclusive of the following: Digital Literacy including… Digital Inquiry Digital Communication Digital Empowerment Digital Cooperation   Plan and implement a National HBCUs’ Symposia on Digital Education Innovations (annually) in Effective Use of Educational Technologies in Teaching, Learning, and Practice.  Provide leadership and oversight in the deployment of current technologies for students’ successes – i.e., laptop computers, etc.  Lead the collaboration with IT, CETL, and appropriate faculty committees, academic support, and select student populations in establishing the train the trainer model. Focused technological areas will include: Broadband Learning Blended Learning Online Learning Digital Education and Literacy Best Practices including, but not limited to: Artificial Intelligence (AI) Robotics Adaptive Learning Adaptive texting Modalities in teaching and learning with technologies (inclusive of synchronous and asynchronous platforms) Cybersecurity Coding Gamming etc.  Conduct periodic and systemic training, assessments, and workshops sessions for university stakeholders on use of educational technology tools in the teaching effectiveness through the University’s Student Learning Outcomes;    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:    Develop and implement programmatic policies and procedures in order to attain program goals and objectives  Ensure the overall productivity and effectiveness of CTLA;  Prepare and submit reports of Project outcomes  QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS: The candidate for this position must have and/or be able to demonstrate the following professional and educational skills: Functional knowledge of and mastery of digital literacy and exceptional use of digital technologies.  Create, manage, lead, and facilitate workshops and trainings for faculty, academic support staff, and students. Research and facilitate workshops on educational technology professional development initiatives.              Research and report on educational technology best practices. Demonstrated experience in Project Management.   Impressive interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to administrators, faculty, students, and staff. Experience working with others from diverse backgrounds.  Exceptional writing skills including writing reports with the use of adaptive and appropriate educational technologies.  Work without constant supervision, make decisions, and demonstrate sound judgment.  Able to handle multiple tasks and projects functionally while prioritizing other tasks. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.  Daily sustain a professional appearance and demeanor.    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE::   Master’s degree in Educational Technology and/or other related field (required). The ability to articulate best practices in digital literacy and the current use of select educational technologies. At least a minimum of four (4) years of successful experience in a respected educational technology position at college or university. Demonstrated experience motivating faculty and students from diverse backgrounds.  Demonstrated experience in workshop planning and facilitation.  Experience teaching in higher education (preferred). Experience presenting at professional development conferences. Certifications and Badges (preferred).   WORKING CONDITIONS:   Work is primarily performed within a university campus environment. You may be required to work during evenings and weekend when necessary. Travel for administrative work is expected. The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS:   Moderate lifting up to twenty (20) pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend and reach.
