- Develop and deliver a comprehensive and engaging music curriculum that aligns with state standards and district goals.
- Instruct students in various aspects of music education including music theory, history, performance, and composition.
- Conduct rehearsals, direct performances, and organize music-related events such as concerts, recitals, and competitions.
- Provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse musical abilities and interests.
- Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and expression.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community partners to promote the importance of music education and student achievement.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and participation in music activities.
- Stay current with trends and best practices in music education through professional development opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification/license in Music Education (Nebraska certification).
- Previous experience teaching music at the elementary, middle, or high school level.
- Proficiency in playing and teaching a variety of musical instruments and styles.
