Provides emotional/informational support for program participants and their families. Assists clients with access to positive social connections and community-based or office-based recovery support services. This role will work with community partners and local stakeholders to provide comprehensive care in the community or office.
As a part of the community-based or office-based team, the Peer Support Specialist will meet with individuals in office and/or their own environment such as in the client's home, hospital, the office, schools/work, etc.
This role will ensure continuity of care with clients through peer services as well as sharing their own lived experiences to provide clients with education, support, and hope.
A variety of clinical training opportunities are available based on program and interest.
Minimum Qualifications Lived experience with mental illness, substance use, or homelessness and/or experience gained through family member's mental health/substance use.
Preferred Qualification:
Knowledge of community resources or ability to learn quickly. Experience working with individuals with mental health or substance use concerns. Enthusiastic about influencing positive change in our clients' lives.
Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Competency with electronic medical records, computer systems, and documentation. Strong interpersonal communication skills in order to collaborate with team members and maintain professionalism in the community. Accountable and self-directed with daily job duties.
Essential Functions:
Reports to work as scheduled on a daily basis and performs duties as assigned by supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel: This is a full-time (40hours/week) position with a flexible work schedule to include early morning and evenings.
Programs:
Centerstone has Recovery Peer Specialist opportunities in a variety of programs to include working with children, families, and/or adults as well as substance use and/or mental health prevention and intervention programs.
Additional program specialties include school-based, forensic, employment, substance use overdose prevention, and homelessness prevention.Time Type:

$ $19.21
