BioMADE is looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join the growing Technology & Innovation team. This person will design and develop code implementation for BioMADE's Digital Backbone that will support 275+ member organizations. They will work with other Data Team members to provide a unified computational infrastructure for bioproduction-centered collaboration across industry, academia, and the Department of Defense. The ideal candidate has a strong background developing backend data systems for mid to large-scale applications. This position requires strong back-end experience and data management skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Help the team envision, architect, and build, scalable data platform that will power BioMADE's Digital Backbone focusing on scalable data lake, data integration, data transformation, and curation.

Develop both internally and externally facing APIs and interfaces.

Implement data governance and security protocols to ensure data integrity and compliance.

Deploy code at regular intervals to maintain a development cycle responsive to user needs.

Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: analysis, technical design, planning, development, testing/CICD, release, and postproduction support.

Adhere to best practices to ensure a well-structured, reliable codebase.

Create and update internal system documentation. Summary
