VanderHyde Mechanical, a family-owned business located on the Northwest side of Grand Rapids is looking for a Bookkeeper


VanderHyde Mechanical is a growing leader in the residential and commercial Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electrical trades and has proudly been in business for over 34 years Integrity, technical expertise, and high-quality service are the guiding principles of the VanderHyde team.

This administrative guru computes, classifies, and records numerical data to maintain financial records.

Job duties generally include using accounting software to record, store, and analyze information; checking figures and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and coding documents according to company procedures.

This position also performs various administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, keeping updated records and assisting human resources with various projects and other administrative tasks as needed.


Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
  • Knowledge of other accounting frameworks (cash, tax).
  • Ability to record, store, and analyze financial data using accounting software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to efficiently operate a 10key calculator or equivalent and other office equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
  • At least three years of bookkeeping experience is required, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of QuickBooks Enterprise experience

Pay Range:
$ $23.00 per hour, based on experience.

Full Time:
Office hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
