- Help in the preparation of all food items.
- Be able to effectively and efficiently open and close a kitchen – maintain awareness of all tasks that need to be completed in order to start or end the day.
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards.
- Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation.
- Communicate with the Front of House staff politely and quickly – maintaining a high standard of operations and teamwork within the whole scope of Tavern operations.
- Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
- Understand that this position is dynamic and requires flexibility when it comes to order modification, cancelled orders, or customer satisfaction requests
- Always be prepared to fill in roles where necessary – ie: don't shy away from taking a hot dish to a customer when it's ready, as opposed to letting it get cold while waiting for a runner to be available.
- As this position will be growing with the company, other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.
- 1+ years of experience in a kitchen environment preferred.
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
- Excellent record of kitchen and staff management.
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions.
- Familiar with industry's best practices.
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS).
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, reaching up to 8-hour shifts.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. safely.
- Should be able to move 165 lb. kegs with assistance.
