    STRUCTURAL ENGINEER (Entry)

    VLMK Engineering + Design

    Description: VLMK is looking for a Structural Engineer with 0 to 4 years of experience for our Portland or Vancouver office. We want someone who is passionate about engineering and eager to learn and gain experience in a variety of projects and building types.

    As a Structural Engineer at VLMK, you will:

    • Work in a close-knit team where your input will be highly appreciated.
    • Analyze, design, and draft (or supervise drafting) for various project types using concrete, steel, wood, and masonry structures.
    • Be involved in all stages of a project, from inception to completion.
    • Collaborate directly with our Principal staff and project managers.
    • Have opportunities for guidance by working with colleagues, experienced engineers, and attending training sessions and seminars.
    • Participate in team activities like food cart Fridays, ski trips, chili cook-offs, running groups, and golf tournaments.

    Requirements:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering with EIT registration.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree.
    • Experience in structural design of commercial and industrial buildings.
    • Proficiency in RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, and similar tools. Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
    • A friendly attitude with a passion for continuous learning and professional development.
    • Construction background, potentially from prior roles.
