- Assist the Director of Finance in preparing annual budgets, forecasts and financial reports
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements
- Work with department heads to plan and manage their budgets effectively
- Oversee the daily operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the hotel
- Assist in the preparation of financial analyses and reports for management
- Support the Director of Finance in managing cash flow and forecasting needs
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
- Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures
- Stay current with developments, practice trends and promulgations in the industry
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; CPA or MBA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficient in financial software and systems
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership abilities and experience in managing a team
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of management
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Proper Hospitality is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Finance to take the helm at Shelborne Miami Beach by Proper, a renowned hotel re-opening and debuting in our portfolio in early 2025.
Our property will introduce four vibrant new food & beverage destinations to the neighborhood, each suited for warm weather dining, with an all-day signature restaurant, a lobby bar-lounge, and curated cafe. Resort amenities will include a spacious pool and lush garden lounge, indoor-outdoor cabanas, sundeck terrace, state-of-the-art fitness center, dedicated access to a private beach club, and more than 15,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting & event space.
This role is crucial in supporting the Director of Finance in managing the financial aspects of our hotel operations, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance within the hospitality industry and a commitment to excellence.
