Position Title:Sanitation Associate

Job Summary:

Perform general cleaning of the building, equipment and grounds, including satellite locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Understand and follow all safety rules and procedures.
Clean the equipment and environment in the silo, sifter, boiler, electrical and blower areas.
Maintain the overall cleanliness of the warehouse area by cleaning the racks, metal guardrails, areas between the pallets, dock plates, floors, etc.
Inspect and clean the sifters in the sifter room on a scheduled basis to check for particulates and other items. Complete the required documentation in a timely manner. Report any sightings to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Maintain the cleanliness of the ingredient huts and bulk liquid tanks.
Clean the floor in specific manufacturing areas such as the Dry Department as necessary.
Maintain the general cleanliness of common areas such as cafeterias, rest rooms, locker rooms, and offices.
On a routine basis, clean the exterior of the facility to include the general grounds, around trash and recycle compactors and dumpsters, parking lots, eating areas, windows, steps and walkways.
Operate and maintain the floor scrubbers and any other equipment, tools or supplies required to complete the tasks of this position.
Inventory housekeeping supplies weekly to maintain acceptable inventory levels.
Assist with snow removal as required.
Perform light painting and related activities as required.
Travel to satellite locations to perform routine housekeeping duties and maintain proper inventory levels of supplies.
On a scheduled basis check and clean interior pest stations. Complete the required record in a timely manner.
On a scheduled basis, check and clean all floor drains. Complete the required record in a timely manner.
Adhere to the Master Sanitation Schedule, completing tasks at the required frequency.
Complete any additional records or other documents as required for this position.
Travel to the post office daily to retrieve mail as needed by the accounting department.
Keep quality management informed of any potential or actual housekeeping issues.
Perform other duties as requested by the Quality Assurance Manager or Director of R&D and Quality Assurance.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk on concrete floor for prolonged periods
Frequent bending, lifting and twisting for extended periods of time
Can lift up to 50 lbs.
Wear proper personal protective equipment when necessary (hair net, beard net, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)

Required Skills:

Must be able to plan and work alone effectively to complete tasks with mínimal supervision.
Must be able to complete records including Master Sanitation Schedules, Sifter Tailing Reports, Drain Cleaning and Pest Control forms, and inventory report.
Must be able to clean effectively using tools such as vacuum, mop, cleaners and disinfectants.
Must be able to operate and maintain machinery such as a floor scrubber and snow blower.
Must be flexible as the needs of the business dictate the work schedule.
