OBJECTIVE
As a member of the Gilson Prepress department, the Prepress Manager is responsible to lead the team in utilizing publishing, imaging, and prepress software to prepare electronic files for offset, digital, and wide-format printing based on Gilson equipment specifications and customer needs.

Position reports to the Director of Operations - Oak Facility
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership_
- Supervise and mentor a team of prepress specialists, providing guidance, support, and training
- Develop team members' skills and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production demands
- Manage employee data collection, time approvals, annual reviews, and establishing goals
Prepress Operations Management _
- Oversee the preparation and formatting of digital files, ensuring they meet print requirements and quality standards
- Collaborate with graphic designers, account managers, and other departments to clarify project requirements and resolve issues
- Manage any digital file assets, ensuring organization and completeness
- Identify costsaving opportunities and implement efficient processes
Quality Control _
- Implement and enforce quality control processes to ensure accurate color reproduction and file consistency
- Maintain proofing equipment, including maintenance, calibration, supplies, and software
Production Scheduling_
- Work in conjunction with the Production Scheduler to maintain prepress schedules to meet customer deadlines
- Prioritize and allocate resources effectively to ensure timely job completion
- Monitor progress and adjust schedules as necessary
Technology and Software Management _
- Manage and maintain prepress software, equipment, and tools, ensuring they are in optimal working condition
- Evaluate and recommend upgrades or new technologies when necessary
- Create, maintain, implement, train and service automation workflow software processes to increase speed of throughput and consistency of quality print files
Compliance and Documentation_
- Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and best practices in prepress
- Create and maintain accurate records of prepress workflows, job specifications, and quality control processes
Communication and Collaboration _
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with other departments, including the production team, sales, and customer service
- Address client inquiries and concerns related to prepress issues

Education and Training_
- Bachelor's degree in Print Management preferred Experience
- Minimum of five years in offset, digital, or wideformat printing manufacturing Attitude
- High expectations of self and others
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Passion for the graphic arts industry
- Positive attitude with internal and external customers
Knowledge and Aptitude_
- Use and learn specialized printing imposition software
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in a fastpaced environment
- Organize time around multiple timesensitive projects
- Strong working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro)
- Learn and adapt to new technologies
- Knowledge of printing substrates, inks, coatings and finishing processes
- Follow procedures and established best practices

Pay:
$55, $60,000.
