Shift times and shift length:
Day 7am and they are open to an 8 or 10 hour shift. 7am-3:30pm (5) days/week or 7am-5:30pm (4) days/week

Base Hourly Pay/Salary Range: 32.02, 40.05,48.07,

  • Evaluation and reporting of negative gynecological cases, evaluation, and interpretation of abnormal gynecological, nongynecological and fine needle aspiration cases.
  • Cytotechnologists are responsible for identifying diagnostic material and referring cases to the pathologists appropriately.
  • Serve as a member of the Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) team providing on site adequacy evaluation of FNA procedures.
  • Provide technical advice and perform cytopreparation and processing as needed.
  • Must maintain records of screening slide counts and other activities.
  • Maintain Quality Control records where indicated.
  • Assist in gathering data relevant to quality assurance activities, continuous improvement activities and/or other special projects.
  • Recent Hospitalbased experience

License Required: Illinois does not require a cytology license. Just CT(ASCP) certificate is needed.


Certificates Required:

Bachelor's degree in either Cytotechnology, Biology, or Life Sciences & successful completion of a 12-month CAAHEP accredited Cytotechnology program.


Pay:
$ $48.07 per hour
