    Job Description Summary:

    What you need to know about the role: Looking for someone who has proven experience in developing enterprise backend application with expertise in coding, system design and solving complex problems.

    The PayPal Identity Profiles Account and Business team is seeking an accomplished software engineer to join our team. Our's team mission is to connect our customers to our many experiences in a safe and secure way.

    We provide account life-cycle services and solutions to make the management of our customer's personal and/or business data with PayPal in efficient and secure way.

    This team work on complex distributed system to manage and deliver highly scalable product at large. Having extreme ownership, collaboration, execution and having lot of fun at work defines the team.


    Job Description:

    Your way to impact:
    In this role you will be responsible for driving key customer engagement and enable business value for the company. You will also be responsible for ensuring platform reliability and modernization efforts or future scaling needs of building platform for all needs at PayPal


    Your day to day:
    Work within a team of highly talented engineers, product and architects to design and develop a highly scalable and configurable Identity Platform

    Being involved in design meetings to propose, discuss and refine new features and functionality.

    You must have significant business knowledge and technical expertise in application design and architecture

    Maintain and enhance the existing architectural documentations and create the new one as needed


    You will be involved in all aspects of the project life cycle, from the initial kickoff through the requirements analysis, design and implementation.


    Must be a self- starter, work independently or as a team member, and have strong communication skills in interfacing with business partners and the Technology, will also be responsible for communicating to stakeholders on technical standards, principles, methodology and trends.

    Experience in engineering support of a product through a PDLC. Working knowledge of finance industry standards and practices preferred

    What do you need to bring:

    8+ years of experience in the software development.

    Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures, knowledge of object oriented design, Design Patterns and multi-threaded programming

    Strong OOP skills, with ability to analyze requirements and transform into scalable software designs.

    Experience with HTTP, REST API's and competent designing and building web services/micro-services in a commercial setting.

    Competent in design/implementation for reliability, availability, scalability and performance.

    Competent in software engineering tools (e.g. Java build tools) and best practices (e.g. unit testing, test automation, continuous integration, etc.).

    Should be a strong advocate of code craftsmanship, good coding standards and use of tools that will improve the quality of the delivered code

    Demonstrate a high level of curiosity, passion for technology, pride of ownership and strive for excellence

    Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.

    Hands on Java Programming Expertise (Core Java, J2EE, Spring framework)

    Hands on Building Restful Services.

    Follow coding and design best practices


    Experience working on SQL, NoSQL solutions with clear understanding of pros and cons of both relational & free form databases.

    Knowledge and a particular interest in issues related to large scale distributed stream processing, real-time computation systems

    Ability to determine impact of architectural solutions and come up with Recommendations

    Design, architect and build data systems and pipelines

    Ability to navigate org boundaries and work fairly independently with limited hand-holding

    Exhibit one team behavior and work with several stakeholders and team members cohesively.

    Must have a BS or MS/PhD Degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent
