    Overview
    Cleartrace, an Austin-based Climate Tech startup, is on a mission to help companies proactively decarbonize their energy consumption.

    Cleartrace allows companies to stand behind their claims of carbon reductions, sustainability, and renewable energy to prevent greenwashing and provide a source of unified, auditable truth.

    We're looking for a talented Software Engineerto join our technology team and help us turn complex challenges into seamless solutions.


    As a software engineer at Cleartrace, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing new products and features.

    Working within an Agile framework, you'll collaborate closely with Engineering Team members, as well as amazing team members from across the organization, including Data Science and Product.

    You will conduct thorough code reviews, participate in pair programming, and contribute to sprint and quarterly planning sessions. Your input will be crucial in proposing technical solutions and navigating the product development journey, from conception to launch.


    We are based in Austin, Texas, but the role is open to the right candidate anywhere in the United States.


    About The Role / Responsibilities:
    Design and implement robust, scalable software solutions in a collaborative Agile environment

    Engage in code reviews and pair programming, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and high-quality code

    Propose and document innovative technical solutions to complex problems, driving efficiency and effectiveness in our product development processes

    Contribute to standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and quarterly strategy sessions, providing valuable insights and feedback

    Collaborate with QAs to maintain a robust suite of automated tests

    Adapt to product pivots and ambiguous requirements with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset

    About You / Qualifications:

    3+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of developing and launching successful products

    Proficiency in and TypeScript is essential

    Skill in leveraging Git and CI/CD pipelines for collaborative development and efficient feature delivery

    Experience with Vue, Ruby on Rails, AWS, and SQL is highly preferred

    Familiarity with Agile techniques, including sprint planning, code reviews, and pair programming

    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle ambiguity and rapid product pivots

    Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with non-technical teams, such as Product, Design, and Customer Success, using strong interpersonal skills


    Bonus Qualifications:
    You are passionate about climate tech and making an impact on climate change

    You love the energy of startup life and thrive in a sometimes ambiguous and quickly changing environment

    You have experience in the sustainability or climate tech industries.

    You have relevant certifications such as AWS Developer Associate or CSM

    You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent coding experience

    Some travel might be required for team and company off-sites.

    We offer four weeks of paid time off, which increases the longer you're with the Company. We also offer paid volunteer time, parental leave, and other paid and unpaid time off options. As a company, we observe eight holidays, along with two floating holidays.

    We offer health, dental and vision plans, along with 401K, HSA, FSA, and more.

    Annual salary range for this role is $135 - $160K, based on experience/skill level.
