The Medical Communications & Information Directors will be accountable for supporting planning and owning the delivery of our Medical Information (MI) services for our portfolio asset in Lung TDR.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of our GMI LTO activities, content delivery, and US Medical Legal Review (MLR).


This ONSITE (3 days per week minimum) role will report directly to the Senior Director, Medical Communications & Information based at our
Gaithersburg, MD campus.


About this Role:


  • Lead all aspects of scientific responses to medical inquiries, develop medical information materials, and support medical education initiatives.
  • Stay current with the latest scientific developments, clinical data, and treatment guidelines.
  • Contribute to content strategy development and implementation in partnership with GMALs.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure accurate and timely communication of medical information.
  • Make budget and resourcing decisions with support from senior directors.

Team and People Management:


  • Manage a team of Medical Communication & Information Associate Directors & Managers, including OSP counterparts.
  • Facilitate training opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in onboarding new team members, ensuring smooth integration.
  • Collaborate with MI Insights & Analytics Assoc Director to optimize GMI report delivery.
  • Coordinate with the Training & Transformation Director to maintain clear SOPs and guidelines.

What You Will Do:


  • Implement MI performance indicators aligned to the prioritization framework, including promotional review and scientific messaging consultation.
  • Respond to medical information requests and address complex medical inquiries.
  • Develop Medical Affairs content for both global and US audiences.
  • Leverage insights from the MI Intelligence and Planning team to tailor medical content.
  • Collaborate with other Med Ex functions to align and deliver MI activities according to content strategy.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Masters (MS, MA, or RPh) plus 5 years in pharma/biotech with commercial or brand teams.
  • 3 years of leadership/management of Medical Information Teams/projects.
  • Expertise in drug information communication, management, and promotional material review.
  • Experience delivering MI services at a global and local level.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.

Preferred Requirements:


  • Advanced degree in Pharmacy (PharmD, PhD, MD preferred), Pharmacology, science, or equivalent clinical experience plus 2 years experience working with commercial, or brand teams in a pharmaceutical company.
  • Global medical experience.
  • Oncology experience.
  • Clinical pharmacy experience with patient care exposure.
  • Experience in Managed Markets or Health Economics Outcomes Research.
