JOB ROLES:

Manage a newly open Special Needs Child Daycare center in Sugar Land.

Individuals have to organize, coordinate with FBISD SpEd departments and enroll students with Special Needs in compliance with federal, state and district requirements and ensure the provision of effective instructional and related services per Texas Health and Human Services.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.( Preferred )
  • Minimum 4 years of special education teaching experience.
  • Valid Texas Educator Certification with required special education endorsement (preferred)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Manage the Special Education Daycare, train teachers of a special population, general education teachers, and other staff and ensure they understand and comply with the confidentiality of children in accordance with both state and federal laws.
  • Participates in professional development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of staff development and inservice programs pertaining to special education.
  • Monitors SPED students' academic progress that is reflected in the formative and summative evaluations to ensure students meet desired educational goals and uses assessment results to coordinate SPED instruction and schedule.
  • Compiles, maintains, submits, and files all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required by the district, state, and federal laws.
  • Establishes and maintains communication, both written and oral, with parents regarding child progress.
  • Collaborates with district personnel, Region service centers, and other professionals to carry out school wide instructional or related activities for SPED students and their parents to better educate them on SPED services and programs.
  • Supports implementation of accommodations and modifications for child with SpEd needs.
  • Ensures implementation of the instructional program which utilizes knowledge of learning styles and modalities and correlates.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and administers programs and services to meet identified needs, including development and implementation of new programs and services
  • Plans, prepares, and facilitates ARD meetings, and serves as a member of the Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee.
  • Participates in placement decisions based on educational, sociological, and physiological data presented to the committee.
  • Assesses the relation between child performance and handicapping conditions.
  • Perform related work as required

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Light Work
  • Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
  • Position is in an office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.

Pay:
$48, $60,000.00 per year
