Description
Locates, sorts, delivers and files patient medical records and radiology films in support of department operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Locates imaging records and reports prior to patients scheduled appointments.
Contacts storage facility to retrieve patient records, as required.

  • Prepares cases to be read in radiologist reading rooms, ensuring cases are complete and ready for review to avoid a delay.
  • Prepares test results for referring physicians.
Faxes reports to physician, as requested.

  • Files records with current typed test results.
  • Processes legal requests for patient medical records including law office inquires, subpoenas, nofault cases, etc.
Generates and sends bills to requesting parties for shipping fees, as required.

  • Utilizes department computer system to retrieve patient health information.
  • Locates information, files, films and reports to complete the cycle of patient care.
  • Updates and maintains log of patient records being removed from file room.
  • Prepares patient folders for pickup of films and correctly records all information regarding the request.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • ADA Essential Functions
  • Constant standing, frequent walking, bending, lifting, pulling and pushing.
Job Qualification

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Prior file room experience, preferred.
  • Computer literacy, required.
  • Good interpersonal skills, required.
