- Lead the vision for the Broadcasting unit through creating high-quality broadcasts that allow fans nationally and internationally to support the Miami student-athletes in their pursuit to graduate as champions by consistently learning and growing the knowledge around the ever-changing technology landscape of broadcasting capabilities.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Broadcasting unit compromised of one full time staff member, temporary gameday staff members and student interns, including but not limited to the hiring, training, scheduling, payroll, inventory management and budget management for the unit.
- Oversee the development, production and television distribution for Miami Athletics. This includes producing a variety of video content, but main focus will be on managing at least 35 ESPN3 events.
- Oversee the Broadcast/Video Production schedule, including but not limited to, game broadcasts, weekly press conferences, coaches shows, interview series, student-athlete features, etc.
- Work closely with conference offices, Van Wagner and other partners weekly or on an as needed basis during the sport season to ensure broadcast expectations (technical and sound quality) are carried out, see that affiliate agreements are properly fulfilled and offer support in affiliate contract negotiations in addition to recruitment and retention
- Recruit, hire, staff and train personnel (temporary staff and students) for all productions.
- Shoot, edit, load video for gameday production.
- Manage all personnel issues, including changes and needs for production.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve all technical issues with production equipment. This may include repairs to equipment or fixing any long term issues with equipment.
- Organize, archive and store all game footage for all sports for Miami Athletics.
- Work with Miami's Social Media team in content creation for other areas of Miami's Athletic
- This position will be asked to work many late nights and weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director/Chief Athletic Marketing and Communications Officer
- Bachelor's degree required in telecommunications, visual communications, film production or other related field by date of employment.
- Two to three years of experience in live broadcast production
- Two to three years of experience in video editing.
- Strong technical background in video engineering, live streaming support and electrical connectivity.
- Experience in managing a staff
- Play-by-play/color analyst experience
- Experience in lighting, set design, audio engineering.
- Previous IT, live video production experience.

Job Summary:
The Director of Broadcasting will report to the Assistant Athletic Director and Chief Athletics Marketing and Communications Officer and be directly responsible for the oversight of staffing, scheduling, administrative oversight, development, video and live event production and television distribution for Miami Athletics.
This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
