OVERVIEW:

The Overnight Assistant is responsible for providing individuals and families who have experienced domestic violence with support in healing; through active listening, empathetic response, crisis management, creative problem solving and connecting them with community referrals and resources to address their needs.

The Overnight Client Advocate establishes and maintains community partnerships and relations to build resiliency and to increase awareness to support individuals and families who have experienced domestic violence.

This Overnight Advocate primarily works overnight shifts, but on occasion, may be called upon to work day, evening, or split shifts.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Services:

  • Answer and respond appropriately to our 24hour crisis hotline
  • Ability to conduct services over the phone, computer, and inperson
  • Meet with Clients to formulate safety plans, determine needs, create a case plan, and provide requested referrals and resources
  • Complete thorough intakes, assessments, case management sessions, and exits
  • Ensure daily communication and collaboration with Staff to meet the needs of Clients
  • Document thorough daily case notes into our appropriate databases
  • Complete statistical or narrative reports to develop program outcomes and/or meet grant requirements

Program Initiatives:

  • Provide ongoing training and support to staff who are newer to the agency
  • Participate in peertopeer shadowing with coworkers, as recommended
  • Engage in direct communication and receive coaching from Director of Shelter and Client Services
  • Attend and participate in monthly team and agency meetings
  • Complete required trainings and participate in inservices and continuing education opportunities
  • Participate in conflict resolution with peers and Clients, as recommended
  • Maintain confidentiality of Clients, Staff, and The Caring Place at all times

  • Ability to implement all Pandemic policies, as developed.
