The WhistlePig Whiskey Parlour in quaint, downtown Quechee, VT is a gateway into our world of rye.
As an integral part of our hospitality team, the the Tasting Room Lead will oversee the tasting room operations
and work with our Director of Hospitality and Brand Manager to create and masterfully deliver the end
destination experience in our speakeasy-style parlour. This role will contribute to the vision of the
program and provide direction to a variety of critical tasks including: leading informed tastings,
organizing tasting room and eventually other events, managing tasting room and retail inventory and
supplies, training and managing tasting room staff and assisting with marketing strategies and social
media updates. The winning applicant here will be a non-stop advocate of the brand, Preaching the 'Pig,
as we say, each and every day.


Essential Duties

  • Convey the uniqueness of the WhistlePig Whiskey brand and our spirits to each visitor,
  • Assure that every guest enjoys an outstanding and memorable experience that leads to return visits and passionate brand advocates,
  • Maximize sales and profitability at the tasting room with sales of tastings, merchandise, programs, events, and building of a whiskey-loving community,
  • Maximize guest visits to the tasting room through advertising, advocacy and events, programs, and other means of maximizing "feet in the door,"
  • Lead a team to implement the goals of the tasting room. This team will include the tasting room associate staff
  • Define and implement standards for customer service, friendliness, and cleanliness, creating a fun, engaging, educational experience for guests.

Required Skills & Abilities:


  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Minimum 12 years experience in restaurant / beverage industry, with firsthand knowledge of spirits and related topics
  • Supervision experience required
  • Interest and knowledge of mixology and cocktail development
  • Demonstrated track record of managing team members without supervision, detail oriented and
organized and with intense focus on communication

  • Passion for and interest in learning more about the local farm to table movement and craft spirits.
  • Comfortable in social situations, at ease with engaging the public
  • Creatively develop community, recreational, tourist and industry connections and new strategies to attract customers.
  • Familiarity with POS (eg. square), scheduling and office management systems essential.
  • Must have or obtain prior to start date VT DLC 1st class Alcohol Server certification

  • Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk and reach with hands and arms.
