- Performs skilled concrete placement & finishing and/or asphalt placement, raking/luting and rolling tasks, as lead worker over assigned concrete or asphalt crew,inspects completed work and work in progress, to ensure compliance with standards and safety requirements; provides training, guidance, and instruction to staff on proper work procedures; serves as technical support to other workers;maintains accurate and timely work records and logs; serves as a liaison to the supervisor.
- Provides performance feedback, trains, and instructs employees to meet established goals and objectives; participates in staff evaluations with designated supervisor to provide impartial feedback regarding performance; assures that staff maintain safety standards and adhere to policies and procedures for efficient and safe operations.
- Reviews, maintains, and updates records in various formats, mediums, and automated systems to ensure data integrity and adherence to internal controls, practices, and policies; demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless services.
- Sets up work zones with traffic control devices per MUTCD and follows safety procedures to comply with established policies, rules, and regulations.
- Interprets roadway construction plans to make technical field decisions and complete projects in a timely manner; evaluates and recommends the replacement, or repair, of sidewalks to comply with standards and safety requirements.
- Constructs and ensures concrete forms are set for pouring concrete and assures appropriate concrete depth is attained to maintain applicable standards and regulations.
- Conducts repairs on drainage structures to maintain functionality.
- Determines quantities of materials and supplies needed to complete projects; coordinates ordering of roadway materials for multiple projects to ensure timely delivery.
- Provides timely responses and resolutions to issues received from customers to maintain positive relations with residents.
- Performs concrete and asphalt repairs around City buildings and facilities as needed and directed.
- Perform other related or assigned duties as required.

This position provides complex maintenance and repairs of streets, sidewalks, curb/gutter, lanes, and shoulders.
Essential Job Functions
High School Diploma or GED; with two (2) years of building, water/sewer, solid waste, streets, grounds and general construction maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid state commercial driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
Additional Requirements
Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; andverification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
