***: The Produce Assistant Manager assists the Produce Manager in the oversight of daily produce operations and provides leadership and direction to achieve profitable produce operations. The Produce Assistant Manager is to assist the Produce Manager continually grow the team's capacity for efficiency, effectiveness, and service to meet the company's succession needs. The Produce Assistant Manager is to be a role model of the company by driving results while maintaining company core values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Assist the Produce Manager with preparing the weekly sales and labor projections for the produce department in order to maximize sales and profits;
Assist with preparing a weekly schedule based on projected sales and workload;
Maintain inventory levels;
Complete opening and closing duties as assigned;
Clearly communicates and enforces standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, produce conditions and food safety to all team members;
Ensure shelves are organized with product labels;
Examine products purchased for resale or received for storage to assess the condition of each product or item;
Assist to provide exceptional service and ensure the products are handled properly, date controls are performed, ensure freshest product are rotated properly so that they are available to customers;
Provide customer service by greeting and assisting customers, responding to customer inquiries and complaints;
Provide flexibility by helping in any area in order to support the store needs.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Produce/Grocery experience desirable
Customer Service experience desirable

The physical demands and work conditions below represent those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Some requirements may be modified to accommodate individuals with disabilities:

WALKING:
Continuously, throughout the day, while moving about the store and obtaining product from the warehouse.

STANDING:
Continuously, throughout the shift while stocking product.

LIFTING:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.

Compensation:
$18.75/hr
