Pay:
$ $65.69 per hour, depending on education and years of experience. Shift differentials apply.


Job Summary:

The Infection Control Practitioner will investigate suspect infections and assist in formulating institutional response plans.

In addition, this position includes identifying, tracking, and containing infections, data reporting, analyzing trends, assists in developing strategic programs and initiatives to reduce infection spreading, and educating hospital staff on all infection prevention/control and infectious disease management.


Responsibilities:


  • Participates in the development, education, planning, and implementation of effective hospitalwide Infection Control and Prevention practices
  • Assists in the development of quality improvement strategies
  • Asses patient needs and provide clinical intervention and consultation
  • Serve as a resource person for team members regarding infection control policies and procedures
  • Collect, enter, and interpret data, and provide written reports of findings
  • Develop data presentation and training materials as needed

Requirements:


  • NYS RN License required
  • Bachelor's degree required, BSN preferred
  • Certification in Infection Prevention & Control (CIC) preferred
  • Experience or coursework in public health practice and surveillance systems, epidemiology, working with datasets and databases, data analysis, and disease surveillance preferred
