    About Us: Our organization is dedicated to promoting animal welfare and providing exceptional care to animals in need.
    Department / Classification: Customer Service / Non-Exempt; Union
    Reports To: Shelter Operations Manager
    Supervises: None


    JOB SUMMARY:
    The Adoption Services Representative role involves client care, data entry, and clerical duties. You will be responsible for delivering top-notch customer service, accurate information, and guiding potential adopters in finding their perfect animal companion. Your tasks will include reuniting pets with owners, ensuring animal well-being, maintaining records, and handling sales transactions. Expect a dynamic work environment that may include office work, shelter settings, and off-site responsibilities. Weekend and holiday availability may be required.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
    • Provide exemplary customer service to clients, volunteers, and colleagues while actively supporting our mission and events.
    • Handle incoming calls with professionalism and accuracy.
    • Achieve retail sales targets and uphold humane animal treatment.
    • Support donation initiatives and maintain expertise in adoption processes.
    • Assist with animal assessments, vaccinations, and microchipping following procedures.
    • Guide clients through adoption procedures, complete necessary paperwork, and ensure proper data entry.
    • Manage financial transactions related to adoptions and retail.
    • Maintain clean workstations and office areas.
    • Report any animal health concerns promptly.
    • Participate in shelter activities and meetings.
    • Stay updated on industry-related education.
    • Address safety issues proactively.
    • Be willing to take on additional tasks as assigned.


    Required Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or experience in animal welfare is a plus.
    • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
    • Valid Washington state driver's license required.
    • Must obtain Fear Free for Shelter Certification and Medical Clerk License within specified timelines.

    • Organizational and computer proficiency.
