Description

JANUS et Cie is currently looking for a Director of Product Management to manage all aspects of product categories including product launches, cost negotiations, purchasing, production, scheduling, resolving technical issues, discontinuations, and other aspects from various vendors globally.

This position is located in Santa Fe Springs,Ca. Monday-Friday. Flexible hours due to time zones.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with the Product Development & Sales teams to create product and pricing strategy aligned with brand identity
Lead New Product Introduction process: projection development, order placement for showroom product & events, sales tools, inventory management and product training
Work closely with product design and engineering and operations to drive product development within established milestone metrics
Review cost calculations and development of list prices for new product launches in line with financial requirements.
Comprehensive understanding of vendor capabilities
Collaborate with Business Analyst to develop optimal inventory level on stocked products, parts and sales tools
Lead and develop team of product managers, product coordinators and business analyst in gaining consensus to solve business challenges. Initiate process changes and SOP's
Problem solver: Develop collective solutions for the changing business needs using data driven decisions
Lead product managers on major warranty or quality claims, address and rectify product problem/issues
Manage cost variances throughout year
Manage custom and unique projects
Work with key stakeholders to set longterm vision and strategy for the company's products
Analyze sales history to identify trends and benchmarks.
Continually gather and analyze data and business intelligence from external sources and internal sources (sales and client services) to create product roadmaps
Manage products across their lifecycle; perform annual SKU rationalization review and provide recommendations.
Collaborate with website team to maintain product data on the website
Coordinate with stakeholders from across the organization to understand and prioritize needs while serving as an advocate for Product.
Directly manages Product Managers, Marine Project Manager, Product Coordinator, and Product Management Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:

B.A. or B.S. degree preferred
At least 5 years of product management experience, within the furniture industry preferred
Ability to read and understand technical drawings from factories
Proficiency on the Microsoft Suite of programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
40+ hours are required. Flexible hours are required since this position interacts with vendors in various time zones
