GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Communications Content Manager will help shape PYM's message and identity.

He/She/They will monitor creation, management, editing, and distribution of content across digital and traditional platforms; collaborate closely with community members craft engaging stories that captivate and educate the community.

They are responsible for maintaining a strong PYM online presence, monitoring social media trends and analyzing performance metrics so they can guide our decisions.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Content Plan:

In collaboration with the Director of Communication, help develop a comprehensive content strategy that outlines content themes, formats, and distribution channels to effectively communicate Quaker message and increase audience engagement.


  • Content Creation: Develop and produce engaging and impactful content, including articles, newsletters, social media posts, and website copy, aligned with the PYM's mission, strategic directions, and target audience.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, including program staff, communications team members, and volunteers, to gather content ideas, source information, and ensure alignment with PYM's strategic directions. Coordinate with external partners, such as community members, designers, and media outlets, as needed.
  • Editorial Oversight: Provide editorial oversight to ensure content quality, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to Quaker voice and style guidelines. Edit and proofread content submitted from colleagues and/or volunteers to maintain high standards of clarity, coherence, and professionalism.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze the performance of content across various channels using analytics tools. Use insights to refine content strategies, optimize engagement, and drive results in terms of audience growth, website traffic, and donor engagement.
  • Several evening meetings per month; occasional offsite and weekend work required.
Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Highly proficient in writing and storytelling, with experience creating engaging content that resonates with internal and external audiences and increases an experience of belonging.
  • Able to communicate complex ideas and information in a clear and accessible manner, adapting content for different channels and audiences.
  • Experience working effectively and collaboratively with groups, staff, and volunteers; good interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point, databases, and web posting.
  • Proven ability to upkeep a content calendar.
  • At least 35 years of experience in communications, journalism, social media or public relations.
  • Strong organizational, planning and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • An active Friend or experience with Friends' meetings; knowledge of Quaker principles and practice
  • Ability to collect and synthesize complex information from a wide range of sources.
  • Strong research skills and ability to conduct interviews.
  • Experienced with social media channels (ie. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and analytics; Keeps up to date with trends.
  • Videography and graphic design (ie. Canva or Adobe Creative Suite).

TIME EXPECTATION:
This is a full-time position (35 hours per week on average).


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

PYM's offices are located in the heart of Center City Philadelphia in a LEED certified green building called _Friends Center_.

Currently hybrid (minimum of 2 days in the office) the PYM staff enjoys a friendly and welcoming workplace environment and collegial culture.

The building complex houses a range of interesting non-profits serving local, regional, and international missions.

Surrounded by an array of cultural institutions, restaurants and parks, Friends Center is minutes away from various transit portals and many of Philadelphia's best sites.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
