    Long Island Vitreoretinal Consultants, one of the largest providers of Retina specialty is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse to work in our Great Neck and Westbury. In this position we are looking for a compassionate and energetic registered nurse for our busy practice to deliver exceptional patient care to our patients.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Assist physicians with procedures, BP, Glucometer
    • Drawing up drugs for Endophthalmitis – Prepare antibiotics for intravitreal injection
    • Complete lab requisitions; call lab for specimen pick up if needed; Follow up on all labs.
    • Maintain, verify and log all inventory of all drugs
    • Call patients after 1st time injections
    • Prepare retrobulbar and subconj anesthesia
    • Checking expiration dates & stock levels of all drugs
    • Performing FA/ICG injections and monitor signs/symptoms of adverse reactions
    • Triage nursing calls through the on call system and messages from staff
    • Completing Disability forms/DMV forms/all excuse letters-school/work/gym.
    • Complete referral forms for patients (Forsee/Helen Keller/Lighthouse).
    • Monitor Emergency Kit, Spill kit & Endophthalmitis kit inventories and expiration dates
    • Monitor refrigerator temperatures; document them in the log book
    • Coordinating appointments and necessary paperwork for in office treatments
    • E-prescribing all medications
    • Counsel pre-op patients regarding procedure and medications
    • Write out the pre-op drop instructions
    • Review medical history and medications with the patients
    • Bilingual a plus

    Compensation: $36.00 to $40.00

    Required:

    • Varied Shifts Monday- Saturday - Saturday will be a required day.
    • Must have NYS License- RN
