    **Description**

    The Wasserstrom Company is one of the top Food Service Equipment and Supply Distributors in the nation. Established in 1902, we are a family owned company with our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. We currently have an opportunity available at our corporate office for a **Senior** **Transportation Manager**.

    This position will be responsible to lead the Transportation team and develop and implement a corporate transportation strategy for The Wasserstrom Company. Will also lead the Freight cost savings and carrier service improvement team that meets on a weekly basis. Plus, develop strategy for maximizing service and cost through the management of our private fleet, parcel, LTL, Truckload and other providers.

    **Duties & Responsibilities Include:**

    Provide leadership for the Transportation team. Assign job responsibilities, develop team goals, provide direction, and assist in developing transportation strategies. Also responsible for hiring, annual reviews and coaching/training.

    Maintain KPI information in our TMS system. Work with 3rd party providers and carriers to ensure service and cost goals are achieved. Continually review system processes and requirements in the TMS to ensure that corporate goals are achieved.

    Participate in weekly transportation project meetings, and participate in achieving service and cost improvements.

    Take the lead in ensuring that all operational costs are provided to Finance/Sales for customer quotes, including rollouts.

    Assist in providing financial reporting, monthly and quarterly transportation statistics, and develop action plans to streamline data/reporting process.

    Manage and negotiate agreements with our LTL and Truck Load carriers.

    Report Development and maintenance: Help create and maintain transportation and distribution reports required to measure productivity, dollars, and a variety of metrics.

    Respond to daily Sales and Customer Service requests to help provide transportation solutions for our customers.

    Identify and recommend value added services we can provide for our customers and suppliers.

    **Requirements:**

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 5-6 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Must have excellent analytical skills and advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel.

    A strong understanding and experience within a transportation and/or logistics environment is required.
