- Collaboration in all Program policies and decision-making processes.
- Developing, reviewing, and revising as necessary the Program's mission statement, goals and competencies of the program.
- Participation in the selection process of entering students.
- Providing student instruction in the didactic and clinical phases of the Program.
- Evaluating student performance.
- Providing academic counseling of students.
- Provision of remedial instruction as needed.
- Designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum and program.
- Scholarly activities, e.g., research, professional presentations, etc.
- Service to the Program and University, e.g., committees, volunteerism, etc.
- Participation in grant related activities.
- Assist in clinical site development and monitoring as needed.
- Program Principal Faculty who serves as course directors have the following additional responsibilities:
- Organization of the course.
- Scheduling of lectures.
- Analyzing all course related data to ensure that learner outcomes are achieved.
- Generate an annualreport that reflects the strengths and weaknesses of the course.
- Computer skills, e.g., Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.
- Knowledge regarding all facets of, and participation in, the ARC-PA accreditation process.
- Master's Degree.
- Current NCCPA board certification, emeritus certification status, and must be licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Arizona.
- Minimum of 3 years clinicalexperience.
- PhD or other professionally related doctoral degree.
- Teaching experience in a Physician Assistant program or related healthcare discipline.

The College of Health Sciences at the University of Arizona invites applications for a full-time, career track faculty position in the Physician Assistant program. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual who will contribute to the development of a dynamic academic environment. The successful candidate will join a team of committed educators in preparing the next generation of Physician Assistants (PAs) for excellence in clinical practice.
The successful candidate will fulfill the responsibilities of a faculty member in an appropriate department, actively participate in teaching, clinical service and/or scholarly work, and must qualify for an appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
This is a 12-month, full-time, career track clinical faculty appointment. The individual should hold a master's degree, preferably a doctorate. They should be a Certified Physician Assistant or have extensive experience in physician assistant education. PA Principal Faculty must hold current NCCPA certification, emeritus certification status, or an equivalent health professional degree and must be licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Arizona. They should have a minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a physician assistant. Faculty must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and should demonstrate consistency in interpersonal and leadership skills.
