Have you reached a point in your recovery journey with substance use and/or mental health issues that you are able to be a support and resource to others needing help? We are searching for individuals with lived experience ( Substance use and/or mental health treatment) to be a part of our mobile crisis team.

This persons role is to form a connection with the person in crisis to support them through mental health treament and link them to resources they need in the community.


The Crosspoint Crisis Team serves Vermilion County 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in our community.





HOURS:
Friday 12 AM to 8 PM, Saturday 12 AM to 8PM, Sunday 12 AM to 8PM


Job Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Willingness and ability to attend training to becomes (Certified Recovery Support Specialist) within one year of hire
  • Lived Experience of mental health and/or substance use and treatment.
  • Strong knowledge of community resources and how to Access them
  • Valid Driver's License and automobile insurance.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Learning and understanding the recovery process and models.
  • Gaining knowledge of available, local resources and an understanding of how to access needed resources.
  • Ability to teach and guide others through recovery process.
  • Ability to lead peertopeer support groups and empower others.
  • Ability to engage and facilitate a calming environment.
  • Provide supportive services during crisis response in the community to the person served, their families, and community partners.
  • Advocate for the person in crisis while working collaboratively with the Crisis Intervention Counselor.
  • Serve as a recovery agent by providing and advocating for effective recovery based services.
  • Participate in team meetings to help with planning and problem solving for issues related to dayto day operations.
