General Position Summary:

Provide exceptional customer service, and proactively participate in the overall functioning of the Hardware Store.

Full-time or Part-Time position available with possible opportunity for year-round employment.


Starting Pay:
$ /hour. Overtime pay is 1.5 times regular pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours/week.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the following:


Customer Service:

Provide a positive representation of [EMPLOYER].
Possess a positive, friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
Provide exceptional Customer Service.
Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
Greet customers entering and throughout the store.
Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
Ensure all phone calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.
Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.

Assist customers in finding the products they need to complete their projects, take them to the products, provide advice if you have knowledge in that area.

Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time.


Store Operations:

Be available to work in 2 or more store locations.
Master the point-of-sale system and cash out customers at the register.
Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.
Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area.
Properly Merchandise products, rotate seasonal items, end caps, assist with resets through the store.
Participate in all store labor services such as mixing paint and cutting keys, glass, shades.
Ensure signage is current throughout the store.
Communicate any customer complaints or questions to Manager or General Manager for follow up.
Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to Manager.
Participate in store meetings.
Be professional in appearance and actions.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Other Essential Requirements

Education/Training
High School or GED equivalent.

Experience
Formal retail experience preferred.

Physical Demands
Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs) and climbing.
