The newly created PVS Curriculum Small Wins team, through teacher
- and student-focused design thinking sessions, will focus on enhancements to our curriculum.

The intent of the Small Wins team is twofold:

first for our customers to participate in our development cycle and get immediate value from enhancements that will save them time better spent on building relationships with students and differentiating instruction; and second for our PVS teams to build relationships with our schools, understand their problems and opportunities, and appreciate how they are using our curriculum to better inform the broader Product and Technology roadmap.

In addition to the Assurance Analyst, the PVS Small Wins team is comprised of a product manager, a solutions manager, content developers, a content architecture/integration analyst, and an instructional designer.


Role Description:


Working from home or from one of Pearson's US-based offices, the Small Wins Assurance Analyst oversees compliance to PVS's editorial, accessibility, and quality standards to ensure the development and production of best-in-class curricular resources and enhancements.

As a member of the Small Wins team, the Assurance Analyst will participate in design-thinking sprints to identify and prioritize "small win" work, to develop the "small wins," and to test, validate, and deliver the "small wins" to our school customers.


Responsibilities:


Quality Assurance and Accessibility:

  • Plan, execute, and oversee inspection and testing of incoming and outgoing curriculum assets to confirm quality conformance to learning experience specifications and quality deliverables
  • Plans, develops, coordinates, designs and implements test strategies according to guidelines (inclusive of accessibility, content frameworks, and engineering standards)
  • Executes activities to ensure the quality of our courses, specifically the delivery of our Curriculum through our education management system (Pearson Online Classroom)
  • Becomes an expert with WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards
  • Develops strong relationships with the quality assurance team to ensure that quality control processes are integrated throughout curriculum enhancement development and production and that the overall quality of the learning experience is constantly improving
  • Writes both manual and automated test cases
  • Ensures quality and consistency throughout the architecture and implementation of our testing method
  • Ensures Small Wins team has appropriate curriculum, product, and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver curriculum effectively

Editorial:

  • Examines, researches, and resolves editorial issues; addresses escalated issues; responds to team members' concerns; oversees editorial workload, productivity, and quality; and identifies and oversees work process improvement
  • Becomes an expert with PVS's authoring and style guide and with Pearson's global content policy, as well as industry guidelines such as _The Chicago Manual of Style_ to perform editorial functions to ensure content is accurate, consistent, etc.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years quality assurance or editorial experience, including experience testing and validating/editing and improving digital products
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Educational Management Systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of WCAG2.2AA
  • Proficiency with a variety of style manuals, especially _The Chicago Manual of Style_
  • Knowledge of content management systems and digital authoring tools
  • Technologically proficient with Microsoft Office, Azure Dev Ops, Google Suite, and ability to learn other software programs and technology platforms quickly
  • Must enjoy a challenging work environment that requires flexibility, selfdirection, creativity, strong communication, and organizational skills
