Description

Responsibilities:

Assisting Physical Therapists in providing patient care
Schedules initial evaluations and followup appointments
Receives authorizations from insurance carriers and links to appointment for appropriate payment
Obtains authorization for physical therapy visits through all insurance carriers; requests date extensions for prior authorizations if needed
Verification of all procedure codes submitted by therapists
Obtain cosignatures from referring physicians for patients insured through Medicare
Patient scheduling for new evaluations and followups
Scheduling and tracking authorization for Morgan Stanley Westchester PT location
Processing and assisting in tracking authorizations and precertifications
Communicating with insurance companies via fax/phone to request services
Maintaining equipment and daily cleaning
Monitoring supply inventory and placing supply and equipment purchase orders
Preparing, distributing and instructing in HEPs
Assisting front desk as needed

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma required, college degree preferred
Minimum one year experience preferred working in a physician practice
Computer savvy, with keyboard knowledge of institutional used software packages
Ability to work with patients and make them feel comfortable
Ability to independently compose correspondence
Ability to use judgement to accomplish goals
Ability to perform a variety of complex tasks
Neat, professional appearance
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Hourly Rate Ranges:
$ $28.37

Note:

Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
