Job Summary:


We seek a Property Accountant to support all aspects of accounting for the financials for an assigned Portfolio of affordable housing properties within CCH.

This is a highly collaborative role that interacts with various departments within the organization to ensure the accurate financial reporting for each property.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support and collaborate with internal departments such as, Operations, Property Management, Finance, Corporate, Development, etc. on a regular basis.
  • Analyze and maintain the general ledger to ensure the accuracy of coding and cost allocation.
  • Responsible for the financial reporting, including various variance analysis of assigned property's financial results within assigned portfolio.
  • Use Yardi software to ensure accurate and timely recording of propertyrelated financial transactions
  • Review Property's Accounts Payable.
  • Execute monthly, quarterly and annual; reconciliations, analysis, budgeting, invoices, variances, financial statements and etc.
  • Perform government and investor reporting.
  • Responsible for review of lease assets to ensure depreciation/amortization.
  • Assist in postclosing proration adjustments
  • Assist on all special projects, as needed.
  • Support annual financial audit
  • Other accounting duties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from twoyear college required
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of 2 years of related experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous Accounting experience in a real estate environment a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written, verbal and organizational skills. Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 platform and prior experience with accounting systems and processes.
  • Experience with Yardi desired
  • A customer service orientation and ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • A valid California driver license, reliable personal vehicle, personal auto insurance as required by law, and an MVR sufficient to obtain and reasonably maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies are essential job requirements.

Reporting + Organizational Relationships
This position will report directly to the Controller and does not have supervisory responsibility.


Compensation & Classification
CCH is committed to paying competitive wages. The salary range for this position is $ / hourly.

Based on CCH's Compensation philosophy, the majority of new hires are brought in at the minimum of the salary range.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position is based at the CCH Central Office - Walnut Creek.
