PURPOSE:

The Area Supervisor reports to the Area Manager and works collaboratively with the management team and personnel. The role supervises direct support professionals (DSP) and support administrative staff. In addition, the Area Supervisor oversees, grows, and maintains a caseload of members.

The Area Supervisor ensures excellent service delivery by effectively managing member needs as well as developing and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, such as members, guardians/families, DSPs, and funding source personnel.

Additionally, the position ensures the tracking and processing of all contractual and licensing regulations including all necessary certifications, data and record keeping and file audits.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in field of disability services, education, or related field preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Satisfactory background check
  • Able to acquire and maintain DPS fingerprint card

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Attend member's meetings, such as quarterly planning and other meetings as necessary
  • Provide referrals and offer supports as member/family needs arise
  • Oversee payroll and billing functions for caseload. Complete payroll processing on schedule.
  • Train DSPs on time and data entry processes
  • Track and review data (habilitation data, progress monitoring etc.) and all required paperwork
  • Utilize tracking systems to ensure DSPs are in compliance for employment and service delivery
  • Meet monthly tasks and reports deadlines i.e., Denials, Certification Reports,
  • Assist members in acquiring resources or referrals necessary to support quality service provision (interpretation services, habilitation supports, community resources etc.).
  • Assist with and research denials to determine corrective action and rebilling status
  • Update managers on denials, reasons for denials, and action needed (if known)
  • Answer phone calls, handle service inquiries, prioritize requests and notify manager, as necessary
  • Train and supervise administrative personnel (including EVV Coordinators, Schedulers, Administrative Assistants etc.)
  • Handle all concerns and complaints as necessary; complete, document, and communicate resolutions appropriately
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet company deadlines
  • Ensure all HIPAA policies and regulations are followed
  • Complete Incident Reporting protocols within set timeframe
  • Complete scheduled oncall rotations throughout the year
  • Attend periodic community events as needed
  • Participate in weekly and other meetings as scheduled
  • Ensure adequate staffing and coverage including emergency coverage is provided as needed.
  • Ensure all funding source rules and requirements are met.
  • Follow all company and State policies and procedures including, but not limited to:
  • Report to work on time as scheduled.
  • Refrain from excessive absenteeism.
  • Work all hours as scheduled.
  • Obtain prior approval for desired time off.
  • Maintain all records, logs, and other documentation as required by planning meeting and Company and State policies and procedures.
  • Act as an appropriate role model.
  • Ensure that a clean and safe environment free from abuse, intimidation and harassment is maintained.
  • Maintain all training and certifications as required by State or Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • The ability to lift items up to 50 lbs., including boxes of paper.
  • The ability to walk, kneel, stand, and bend.
  • Must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use and work with computer software and data bases to track information, good familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Patience and the ability to exercise restraint and selfcontrol in potentially challenging situations
  • Ability to quickly respond to health, safety, and emergency situations
  • Ability to use and work with multiple data bases to research discrepancies, update databases, and maintain spreadsheets and tables
  • Ability to exercise patience while working quickly.
