Job Summary


The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity within the Memorial Hermann Consolidated Service Center (CSC).

The Specialist is responsible for ensuring product is properly packaged, in salable condition, and facilitates efficient order fulfillment. Position is responsible for product location audits, documenting results and reporting findings to the appropriate leaders. The role is required to manage damaged and outdated inventory. This position will report to the Order Fulfillment Manager.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
High School diploma or GED preferred


Licenses/Certifications:
Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Certification preferred


Experience / Knowledge / Skills:


  • Two (2) years of warehouse inventory control experience required
  • Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions
  • Strong verbal and written skills, and ability to convey complex information in a way that others can easily follow
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to exercise good judgement in handling difficult situations
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a highenergy environment with time sensitive projects and processes
  • Experience successfully operating and maintaining forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other electric material handling equipment
  • Ability to perform in a metricsdriven environment

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Completes physical inventories, cycle counts, random audits and reconciliations.
  • Tracks and reports any product that does not meet manufacture specification or is deemed nonsalable.
  • Resolves inventory problems in a timely manner.
  • Researches and reconciles product discrepancies/variances of over/under amounts and damaged products.
  • Works with warehouse personnel to ensure proper rotation and location of all inventory.
  • Conducts searches in order to locate misclassified inventory.
  • Maintains product identification and location program.
  • Communicates and develops process enhancements as needed (performs root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and recommends process improvements to eliminate them).
  • Identifies damaged inventory and moves it into designated damage holding area. Ensures proper adjustments are created to correct system inventory levels.
  • May be required to work overtime and/or weekends.
  • Enforces and practices safety rules to maintain a safe working environment.
