Who We AreMeeting Street Schools (MSS), a unique network of five schools across South Carolina, was founded in 2008 on the belief that all students can achieve at high levels and deserve the opportunity to receive a high-quality education, regardless of their socio-economic background.

MSS instructional leaders combine the ability to coach and motivate teachers as they develop capacity and ability around instructional practices and content knowledge.
At MSS, a Lower Elementary Academic Dean (Grades K-2) has a growth mindset and participate in rigorous professional development throughout the year, including collaborative planning sessions, whole and small group school-wide focus professional development, team analysis of performance data; training from:Relay

Our Deans provide job-embedded professional development for teachers to support and sustain effective teaching and learning through the integration of technology, resulting in improved student learning.
DOIs will assist teachers and participate directly in small group instruction to advance teacher's/student's literacy and math skills, provide feedback, and provide support.

Responsibilities
Support outstanding academic achievement and student character development
Build classroom community and relationships with families, participating in a powerful team that ensures all students make outstanding academic progress
Support students through direct and small group instruction
Plans and supervises purposeful support and development for teachers
Creates innovative and common core aligned lesson plans
Adapts teaching for the benefit of each student and collaborates with other educators for support and ideas
Assesses student learning on a consistent basis and adjusts instruction to meet individual student needs
Commits to constant professional and personal growth through reflection, feedback, and collaboration
Models MSS' Path to Success skills and supports the development of those skills in students and peers
Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor

Educational Background and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred
At least four years of successful prior experience teaching in under resourced communities, preferred
A valid SC professional teacher certification
At least three years of experience supervising and coaching teachers
