St. Mary Magdalen School is seeking a dedicated full-time Diversified Learning Specialist for the school year. St. Mary Magdalen has a dynamic and diverse student body of more than 350 students. We are committed to providing exceptional academic education, while placing great emphasis on faith formation and educating the whole person.

Position Description: The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator who is able to collaborate well with teachers, parents, students, and administrators; demonstrates knowledge of diverse learning styles and differentiation of instruction; is familiar with best practices in reading and math intervention and assessment of students with diversified learning needs; demonstrates competency in lesson design, organization, and coordination. A background in special education/special education certified is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directly responsible for creating and managing accommodations and modifications for academic curriculum and behavior support for grades PK-8.
• Support and assist the classroom teacher in identifying specific needs of students.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop, implement, and monitor individual learning plans for students in need of intervention.
• Provide additional support for high-achieving students.
• Assist teachers in working with students with diverse learning needs (push-in and/or pull-out)
• Provide regular student progress reports to parents and school.
• Coordinate and attend meetings with local public schools, teachers, and parents to discuss recommendations and plans for student success.
• Accurately document meetings and communication
• Maintain confidential student records.
• Attend parent conferences, faculty meetings, and committee meetings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Practicing Catholic
• Bilingual skills.
• Successful experience teaching in a diverse student environment.

Salary: Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
