- Responds to site inquiries on environmental matters and regulations and advises on course of action.
- Manages and supports Operations, Distribution and PE site specific environmental related projects, including consultant management. This includes:
- Identify Ops, Dist and PE projects that require E support.
- Select consultants to support projects as needed.
- Work with the interested parties to determine costs and budgets.
- Manage projects to completion.
- Supports Messer sites with environmental permitting matters, including review of permit applications and related documents such as SWPPPs, SPCC plans, etc.
- Leads and supports investigations related to environmental related incidents, including root cause analysis and development of corrective actions.
- Execute second phase of Site Environmental Plans development for transport depots and Canadian locations.
- Conducts visits to sites to evaluate environmental permitting and regulatory compliance; identify gaps; and develop corrective actions.
- Leads and supports environmental components of various internal and external audits, including ISO 14001 audits.
- Maintains working knowledge of all environmental regulations in the US and Canada.
- Manages implementation of enhanced waste management practices including updated procedures, forms, and related waste management plans; training; and auditing of waste management vendors, including disposal sites.
- Supports EPA GHG reporting process.
- Supports development and continuous improvement of Environmental Management System related procedures and chapters.
- Conduct a gap assessment with regards to refrigerants regulations and develop actions to close gaps as needed.
- Participates in the development and delivery of environmental related training.
- Trains and supports sites on environmental compliance requirements.
- Tracks and compiles environmental sustainability metrics, such as water consumption, refrigerants emissions, vehicle mileage, and others as applicable or requested.
- Promotes a Culture of environmental compliance and a commitment to environmental leadership by providing local facilitation, consultation, training, and support for local management teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of environmental regulations related to air, water (including wastewater and stormwater), hazardous materials, RCRA, remediation, due diligence, etc.
