Position Description:
The TIA Generalist will play a critical role in implementing and sustaining Local Designation Systems across the region. One of the major components of this work involves utilizing knowledge and experience in coordinating a TIA system from the district level to support LEAs in navigating the complexities of the designation process. Specifically, the TIA Generalist will engage directly with identified districts to present and facilitate professional development sessions, office hours, and trainings—both onsite and at the ESC—across various TIA entry levels. The TIA Generalist will maintain the flexibility to support the TIA Lead, Data Analyst, Assessment Specialist and System Support Specialist as a secondary technical assistance provider to ensure support is distributed effectively throughout the region. The TIA Generalist will assist with the broad requirements of the TIA Regional Support Grant, as well as other on-demand/wrap-around services to help districts with general TIA implementation needs.
Objectives of the TIA Regional Support Grant Include:
- Increase the number of districts with TIA systems
- Increase the percentage of teachers eligible to earn TIA designations within local systems
- Increase success rates with TIA implementation and data validation
- Increase retention for TIA designated teachers
Job Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Master's degree preferred
- Valid Texas teaching license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Experience in instructional leadership, data analysis, and coaching
- Experience in designing and leading professional development
- Experience with Data Management Systems
- Experience leading TIA committees and Stakeholder Engagement meetings
- Experience in teacher appraisal preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Outstanding interpersonal, teamwork, and management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Results orientation coupled with a strong work ethic and excellent organization, coordination, and time management skills
- Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity
Experience:
- Minimum of three years of experience in a campus administrator or three years of experience managing a district-level TIA system preferred
- Prior experience working with curriculum and assessment
- Prior experience engaging with TIA application process, data submission, stakeholder engagement
Essential Duties:
- District-Level Coordination: Apply practical experience in managing TIA systems to help LEAs streamline their internal processes and local designation plans.
- Flexible Technical Assistance: Serve as a versatile secondary support provider, assisting the TIA Lead, Data Analyst, and System Support Specialist to meet regional demand.
- Professional Development: Design, facilitate, and lead training sessions and office hours both at the ESC and on-site at school districts to build local capacity.
- Multilevel Support: Provide tailored guidance to districts at various stages of TIA implementation, from initial interest to system maintenance.
- Regional Distribution: Ensure equitable access to support by traveling across the region to provide hands-on assistance and wrap-around services for any TIA-related needs.

Travel: Frequent Travel within the region, state, and nation when appropriate
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including a personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions, including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travel

Maintain a calm attitude in demanding situations
Make changes and adapt to varying responsibilities on an ongoing basis

- ESC Region 12 provides monetary contributions of up to $575 per month to use for employee/family healthcare and supplemental benefits.
