Summary:


Responsible for generating Rooms Revenue through the execution of strategic planning and performance to achieve/exceed individual revenue quotas in assigned market segments.

Essential Functions / Technical Skill Requirements:

  • The position is accountable for proactively soliciting and handling sales opportunities
  • Conducts daytoday activities related to sales with a focus on building longterm customer relationships that enable achievement of sales objectives set.
  • Identifies new business to achieve individual revenue goals
  • Activities could include entertainment, sales calls, tradeshows, etc.
  • Able to effectively manage time and prioritize workload
  • Able to work with a minimum of supervision

  • Knowledge of basic computer literacy and good typing skills

  • Ensures that all client correspondence is delivered according to departmental time and quality standards
  • Able to produce a weekly sales call schedule which addresses timely follow up of all tentative business, maintenance of existing accounts, and development of new business, and priorities assigned by the Director of Sales and / or General Manager or Company personnel
  • Complete all departmental reports and systems on a timely basis
  • Able to negotiate contracts the best interests of the property while maintaining customer goodwill
  • Familiar with legality of contractual agreements
  • Understands operational capabilities of the property
  • Engaging in Sales Activities and can follow a sales plan
  • Uses problem solving methodology for decision making and followup
  • Has personal integrity, manages time well, highly visible in area of responsibility
  • Maintain high visibility for hotel by active involvement in local CVB, and other business and professional organizations
  • Maintains high visibility with peers and has strong product knowledge within competitive properties and hotel community
  • Able to penetrate existing accounts through obtaining lists for direct mail, referrals, other company contacts or offices, and in general formulates a customer call strategy
  • Able to identify sales, market or industry trends to develop prospect lists
  • Able to work as a team member in a competitive environment
  • Manages a group and interpersonal conflict situations effectively
  • Follow all company Sales SOP standards

Education and Experience:


  • Previous experience in a similar position is required.
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area
  • Position requires a varied work schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Computer skills required including: Word and Excel.
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills:


  • Ability to communicate fluently in English verbally and in writing.
  • Use of computer and phone.

Physical Demands:


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
