At our Peabody, MA MRO facility, we specialize in the repair and special processing of turbine (hot section) jet engine hardware.

The Repair Engineering Leader will lead a team of engineers and metrologists to innovate, develop and implement technologies to support these repair processes.

This leader will interact across the broader Aftermarket team to leverage process and technical improvements, while developing a robust technology plan to continue to grow the technical capabilities of the facility.

Additionally, this leader will partner with the OEM engine manufacturer to implement and substantiate new repair development and ongoing support of existing repair operations.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Manages a team of primarily experienced professionals (engineers & metrologists)
  • Owns the execution of longterm technology road map strategy and the operations technical support of ongoing production
  • Develops & deploys robust internal process requirements to ensure highest level of safety and quality maintained within the processes.
  • Leads a team responsible for analyzing all process variations and implementing robust corrective action and process improvements
  • Develops new manufacturing processes and standards to align with longterm business and operations goals.
  • Interfaces with customers to explain technical details of repairs, defects or warranty claims.
  • Establishes, develops and implements policies, standards and procedures for engineering and technical work focused on improving the organizations performance.
  • Oversees activities focused on planning and designing manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluates the recommendations of engineers to ensure they are accurate and consistent with the organization's production plans and will improve the production capabilities in line with customer expectations.
  • Leverage continuous improvement processes and tools (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) to improve EHS & Facilities performance
  • Lead a positive culture and championing diversity and inclusive leadership
  • May be required to work off hours

Qualifications/Experience Needed:


  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience
    or **an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
    or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of FAR 145 requirements and associated repair documentations.
  • Knowledge of various technical publications such as Structural Repair Manual, Component Maintenance Manual, Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, etc.
  • Jet engine component knowledge is preferred
  • Prior experience with MRO engineering is preferred.
  • Prior people leadership is preferred
  • Project management experience is preferred
  • Continuous improvement process and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, etc.) is preferred
