About the Department of Conservation and Recreation:

The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) oversees a vast and diverse state parks system in the country, focusing on conserving natural resources and enhancing outdoor recreational opportunities across Massachusetts.

The DCR manages over 450,000 acres of parks, forests, beaches, and more in Massachusetts.

The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks candidates for the Seasonal Recreation Facilities Supervisor I position.

Duties:

  • Performing maintenance tasks to ensure well-maintained facilities, including restroom and building cleaning, snow removal, and assisting with various projects as needed.
  • Monitoring recreational areas for security and compliance with rules.
  • Handling fee collection and reporting income daily through the DCR system.
  • Keeping records, preparing reports, maintaining equipment, and providing information to the public.
  • Offering information to park visitors about available activities.

Salaries are based on 40 hours per week. Work schedules and days off are determined by the Supervisor and may include weekends and holidays.

I. CPR Certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
II. Standard First Aid and Personal Safety Certificate by the American Red Cross
