Compensation & Benefits:


  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for
    508 Developer & Tester: Pay commensurate with experience.

508 Developer & Tester Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop web pages and necessary frameworks based on web designs using JavaScript, CSS, HTML, PHP, etc.
  • Ensure web programming and development adhere to federal requirements, including 508 compliance and SCORM conformance
  • Prepare test plans and test case scenarios associated with accessibility standards
  • Conduct Section 508 testing via manual reviews, automated test tools, and assistive technologies
  • Implement accessibility testing methodologies, both manual and using assistive technology tools
  • Create or modify testing protocols to align with business requirements and Reusable Program Level Requirements (RPLRs)
  • Stay updated on WCAG 2.0 Success Criteria and best practice guidelines
  • Communicate defects and potential workarounds to developers and other team members not familiar with Section 508 standards Performs other jobrelated duties as assigned

508 Developer & Tester Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • An Active Public Trust or the ability to obtain one is required
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, HTML, PHP, and other relevant web programming languages
  • Strong understanding of Section 508 compliance and accessibility standards
  • Experience in Test-Driven Development Environment
  • Ability to develop test plans and test case scenarios
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools for accessibility testing
  • Excellent communication skills to convey accessibility issues and solutions to team members
  • Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring web designs meet industry and IRS standards Must pass preemployment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
