As a Safety Specialist Intern at Wet 'n Wild Emerald Pointe, you will work closely with our Operations Manager to ensure the highest standards of safety are maintained throughout the park.

This hands-on internship will provide you with valuable experience in safety protocols, emergency response procedures, compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, and risk management within a dynamic and fast paced environment.

• Conducting proactive risk assessments to identify and minimize potential risks
• Assist in the implementation and enforcement of safety policies and procedures
• Perform audits to verify compliance with HSE standards
• Conduct regular inspections of attractions, facilities, and equipment to mitigate potential risks
• Participate and conduct safety training sessions for park staff members
• Assist in the investigation of incidents and accidents, documenting findings and recommendations for corrective action
• Support emergency response efforts and evacuation procedures as needed
• Help maintain safety records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Assist with the timely and accurate completion of sustainability and other required reports

• Currently pursing a degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field
• Strong Attention to detail
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards is a plus
• Lifeguard certification or willingness to obtain certification is preferred
• EMT Certification is preferred
