The Hartford seeks a Database Activity Monitoring Specialist to support our database activity monitoring team. Under the Enterprise Database Management (EDM) organization, this position utilizes the Imperva/ Sonar suite of tools. Imperva captures and analyzes database traffic, looking for outlier behavior and company policy violations.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the event reviewer team to identify risky or unauthorized behavior.
  • Investigate database activity for potential outlier behavior.
  • Respond to SOC1 and SOC2 audit inquiries, providing evidence for logging and monitoring activities.
  • Keep informed of company security policy changes and how they impact database activity monitoring.
  • Implement custom vulnerability scan policies in Imperva. Review vulnerability assessments to confirm adherence to company security policies.
  • Create realtime activity alerts and develop policies to handle the review of these alerts.
  • Recommend and implement security best practices for various database technologies.
  • Analyze database traffic to fine turn monitoring policies for increased efficiency.
  • Create reports for database activity incidents and compliance with company policy.
  • Perform selfaudits to ensure our process confirms to all SOX and company policies, making recommendations to close gaps.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Information Systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience supporting or programming relational databases.
  • Experience using the Imperva Suite of tools, a plus.
  • Understanding of database security policies
  • Basic understanding or database risks and security controls.
  • Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner certification.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model.
  • Work with vendor, and colleagues, across geographic regions.
  • Operate independently.
  • Demonstrate problemsolving skill, innovative thinking, and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience and knowledge in the following:
  • Relational database technologies:
  • Oracle
  • SQL Server
  • PostgreSQL
  • AWS RDS databases
  • MongoDB pipeline queries, a plus
Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market.

Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role.

The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.

The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$88,880 - $133,320
